Saturday

Mood: exhausted
Time: 2:09 p.m. EST
Currently reading: The Silkworm Robert Galbraith

I began this morning with a 2 mi run in Crystal City. I was a bit cold..but liberating nonetheless. Cooled down, stretched, had a post workout shake, grabbed my book, a glass, and opened my fridge to grab some milk...and noticed a bit of a spill that had hardened. That was at 9:30 a.m.

Kick in Virgo OCD cleaning skills. Pulled out all food, scrubbed down the entire fridge, threw out a few things that were no good and the clean freak went to work.

Baseboards, kitchen sink, stove top, under the sink, organized lazy susan & dishes, scrubbed toilet and floors, shower, bathroom sink, vaccumed, dusted, and began preparing food for dinner.

This only took about 4 hours. *sigh* When's the last time I did this you ask? Last weekend. But sometimes I can't help it. Cleaning is more like sterilizing.

I finally sat down, have my book and some delicious English tea in hand and am ready to relax and rest for the rest of the afternoon as I anxiously await a show I get to cross off of my bucket list tonight: Garth Brooks.

Until next time!

Ciao

Friday...1 week post Jonas

A beautiful good morning to you!

While this week has been a chaotic glacial mess, many great things occurred.

After receiving more than 2' of snow, shoveling for hours over the weekend, venturing through icebergs on foot, and taking $25 cab rides to work, I enjoyed every minute of it with my favorite little human.

We began a steady binge watching of Agents of Shields and completed the 1st season of 22-episodes in 5 days. Although, that was enjoyable, the highlight was watching The X-Files with her on Sunday night as it premiered for a 6-episode revival on Fox after being gone since 2002. Skully. Mulder. Chills. It was surreal. And what was even better is how much she loved it. So, naturally, the series is on the list to watch with her...stay tuned!

Last night, the Nuggets were in town to play the Bullets...it was throwback night and we were thrilled to see our team play. We were fully present in that baby blue, rocking our mile high pride! Gallo ending the evening with 26-pts of awesomeness and Mudiay with 20...all witnessed 5 rows from the floor, next to the Nuggets ramp entrance to/from the locker room. Alyssa got the autograph of one enormously, talented, charming Jusef Nurkic.
Final Nuggets 117  Wizards 113

So, all these events had me thinking on my way to work...about everything I have done, accomplished, and has occurred since moving out east.

Patience, faith, and strength are what continue to get me through each and every day. I am happy. Every. Single. Day. Why? Because I am alive. Life is the most beautiful gift. Every day will differ, will have its ups and downs. Some of the tiniest things can be upsetting, or have the complete opposite effect and provide complete elation. Being a Virgo, I am very set in my independent ways. I do not like asking for things nor do I enjoy hearing what I already know. I had a row with my mum this week...and now I feel shitty *side note: and from the looks of it, I've taken to English English after reading Cormoran Strike Novels, obsessively watching Sherlock Holmes & Downton Abby*. I'm not quite sure if it was an event or just my mum that changed the course of my day and attitude, but...I snapped.

And the first thing I thought if afterwards was why did I just do that? So, to clear my head, I went for a 3-mile run and did a bit of meditation and praying. It works everytime. And now, I owe mommy an apology. It will complete my week and fix the funny, obscure feeling I have been carrying with me.

And last but certainly not least, Super Bowl 50 is 9 days away! Go Broncos!!!

Well wishes and cheers to an enjoyable weekend! Please do have a libation and celebrate with me, for I have received news of a career advancement!
